GOAT Director Reveals Why Russia was Preferred For Shooting
Venkat Prabhu while interacting with the Russian media agency, reveals why the team preferred shooting multiple scenes in Moscow, Russia. Recently a popular video of the director made multiple rounds on social media where he emphasised the fact that how Moscow had played a significant role in Thalapathy Vijay’s GOAT (The Great of All Time). The director also revealed how Joseph Vijay faces a major turn in the city of Moscow and gets a new perspective for the film.
Venkat Prabhu reveals that he wanted his audience to get a fresh perspective of the film. He goes on to offer a greater visual experience for the viewers and expresses that it was not common to portray sequences in Moscow, Russia.
Adding more, Venkat Prabhu talks about the relationship between India and Russia. The director talks about the cultural ties that the two nations practice, talking about future perspectives, the two countries share multiple collaborations in education, cultural exchange, and fields of operation. Recently, Thalapathy Vijay and other team members halted their shoot in Russia ahead of the Lok Sabha 2024 general elections. Vijay once again made the headlines when he came to cast his vote in his constituency.
About GOAT
The new poster for the upcoming film “GOAT” showcases Vijay in double roles. One character appears to be younger, likely achieved with the use of de-aging technology. To portray this character, Vijay adopted a clean-shaven look. This marks director Venkat Prabhu’s first collaboration with Vijay. The movie also boasts a star-studded cast including Mohan, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Sneha, Laila, Jayaram, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Yogi Babu. Yuvan Shankar Raja composes the music, with Siddhartha Nuni behind the cinematography and Venkat Raajen on editing duties. The film is slated for a worldwide release on September 5, 2024.
Thalapathy Vijay On Politics
In February Vijay revealed his plans to enter politics by forming the TVK (Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam) party and contesting in the 2026 elections. Citing the divisive political environment and widespread corruption, Vijay expressed his vision for a progressive, secular government free from such issues. This has sparked fan speculation about his acting future, with many wondering which film will be his last before dedicating himself fully to politics after wrapping up his current projects. It is also speculated that Thalapathy’s 69th project will be a political thriller helmed by H. Vinoth which will help the actor start a new chapter in politics.
