India received 35,000 Russian AK-203s

OREANDA-NEWS  The Indian Ministry of Defense received a batch of 35,000 AK-203 Kalashnikov assault rifles produced at a joint Russian-Indian enterprise. This is reported by TASS.

According to representatives of Rostec state Corporation, the Russian-Indian company Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited, registered and located in India, produced 35,000 Kalashnikov AK-203 assault rifles, which were transferred to the Indian Armed Forces. It is noted that the AK-203 are manufactured on certified equipment in compliance with exclusive Russian manufacturing technologies.

The production of the AK-203 in India was launched as part of the Make In India and Self-Sufficient India program, which includes technology transfer and full localization of automatic production. According to Rosoboronexport CEO Alexandra Mikheeva, all the necessary equipment was delivered to the Korwa Ordnance Factory, which made it possible to produce and deliver a batch of AK-203 to the Indian Ministry of Defense within the agreed time frame.

Earlier it was reported that Rostec State Corporation will launch the production of gunpowder for Mango tank armor-piercing shells in India.
