On July 5th, the 2024 European U20 Wrestling Championship started in Novi Sad. Four athletes from the Armenian team competed on the first day, and all still have a chance to win medals, albeit only bronze ones.
Hayk Gasparyan (57 kg), Andranik Avetisyan (65 kg), and Aren Israelyan (79 kg) reached the semifinals, where all three lost to wrestlers from Russia. Tomorrow they will compete for bronze.
Vladimir Azaryan (70 kg) lost to a Russian in the quarterfinals but will also compete for bronze tomorrow through the repechage, as Magomed Baytukaev managed to reach the final.

Tomorrow, July 6th, Artavazd Harutyunyan (61 kg), Narek Nikoghosyan (74 kg), Razmik Yepremyan (86 kg), Papin Unanyan (92 kg), and Henrik Haykyan (125 kg) will begin their matches for the Armenian team.
