Amid rumors of Eduard Spertsyan’s potential move to a new club, FC Krasnodar has decided on a new captain following the departure of Matvey Safonov.
FC Krasnodar’s head coach Murad Musaev announced that after the departure of goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, the club’s graduate and Armenian national team midfielder Eduard Spertsyan will become the new captain of the team.
“One important announcement — Eduard Spertsyan will be the new captain for the season,” Musaev’s words were reported by TASS.
Spertsyan will wear the captain’s armband in the first official game of the season on July 13 in the Russian Super Cup match against Zenit.
