Arsen Balayan (79 kg) from Kaliningrad, an ethnic Armenian, became the champion of the Russian U23 Freestyle Wrestling Championship. In the final, Arsen defeated Abdulkerim Abdulaev from Orenburg.

With this victory, Arsen secures a spot at the U23 World Championship, which will take place from October 21 to 27 in Tirana, Albania.
