Armenian MMA fighter Arman Tsarukyan commented on Islam Makhachev’s desire to fight in the 77 kg weight category. “I fully understand that his performances in the welterweight division are in high demand by the public and spectators. If the organization makes him an official offer, it will be hard to refuse. I would definitely agree to this fight. This way, Islam can make history, but he hasn’t earned it yet. He needs to defeat a few more fighters in the lightweight division.”
Arman Tsarukyan is ranked first in the UFC lightweight rankings. The Armenian fighter already faced Islam Makhachev in 2019, went all three rounds, but lost by unanimous decision.
