The player of the team of the South Ossetian Embassy in Russia was awarded the cup of the best football player of the tournament for the MGIMO Rector’s Cup, the press service of the diplomatic organization reports.
The team of the Embassy of the Republic of South Ossetia in the Russian Federation traditionally took part in the XXIII football tournament for the MGIMO Rector’s Cup. The event took place as part of the 80th anniversary of the University and was timed to coincide with Russia Day.
“Having defeated the teams of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia with a score of 6:2, the Embassy of Venezuela – 2:1, the Embassy of Ecuador – 4:1, the South Ossetian team lost the game to the diplomats of Angola with a score of 3:2 and Tajikistan – 1:0,” the Embassy’s press service has noted.
Based on the results of the competition, in which more than 25 embassy teams took part, the South Ossetian mission took the fourth place, and the team player received the “Best Footballer of the Tournament” cup.
