The Polish Foreign Ministry has decided to close the Russian Consulate General in Poznan, and its staff will be expelled from the country, FM Radosław Sikorski told journalists.

“In this regard, I have decided to revoke the authorization for the activities of the Russian consulate in Poznań. The stay of its personnel on the territory of the Republic of Poland will be recognized as undesirable,” he told a briefing, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.

According to him, the staff of the consulate general will be classified as undesirable individuals in the country. Sikorski stated that this decision was prompted by alleged “sabotage attempts” attributed to Russia.

In May, nine people were arrested in Poland on suspicion of participating in sabotage activities reportedly ordered by Russia.
