NATO is prepared to counter any potential attack, including from the Russian Federation, according to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
His remarks came in response to German intelligence claims that Moscow could attack the North Atlantic Alliance by 2030, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
“Let’s be perfectly clear: NATO is ready to repel an attack from any adversary who decides to strike us, both now and in the future. We are significantly investing in our defence,” Rutte stated.
On October 14, Bruno Kahl, President of Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service (BND), warned that Russia might be capable of attacking NATO countries within the next six years, with Berlin directly engaged in conflict with Moscow.
He noted that the Kremlin views Germany as an enemy due to its position as the second-largest provider of support to Ukraine.
Kahl further emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin is concerned not only with Ukraine but also with “the creation of a new world order.” He claimed that Russian intelligence services are increasingly using all means at their disposal “without any remorse.”
