Freestyle wrestler representing Belarus, vice-champion of the Olympic Games Magomedhabib Kadimagomedov received an invitation from the International Olympic Committee to participate in the Olympic Games in freestyle wrestling in Paris. This was officially announced by the Belarusian Wrestling Federation.
Previously, Kadimagomedov, along with all Russian and Belarusian athletes, was suspended from the Olympic Games. The IOC declined to comment on this situation. If he accepts the offer and goes to Paris, he will become the 17th Belarusian athlete at the Olympic Games.

Of the Russian wrestlers, only Shamil Mamedov (65 kg) previously received an invitation to the Olympic Games. However, soon after the announcement of his participation, it became known that Shamil was injured and would not be able to compete at the Olympics. Instead, the Moldavian wrestler Maxim Sakultan received an invitation.
