Karen Khachanov, one of Russia’s leading tennis players, will not participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. This was announced by Shamil Tarpishchev, the head coach of the Russian national tennis team.

In addition to Khachanov, Andrey Rublev and Liudmila Samsonova will also miss the Olympics. The reasons for their absence from the competition are still unknown. Earlier, it was reported that the entire Russian team was allowed to participate in the Olympic Games, but apparently, some unforeseen circumstances prevented these three tennis players from participating.

“Rublev, Khachanov, Samsonova will not compete in the Paris Olympics,” Tarpishchev said in an interview with Match TV.

This unexpected turn of events has sparked discussions among tennis fans and sports experts. Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev have long been considered among the main contenders for medals, given their recent successes in international tournaments. Liudmila Samsonova has also shown high results and had great hopes for a successful performance in Paris.

At the moment, it is unknown what specific factors influenced this decision. It is possible that the reasons lie in the personal circumstances of the players, injuries, or other force majeure circumstances. Representatives of the Russian team and the athletes themselves have not yet provided official comments on this matter.

Currently, it is known that Pavel Kotov and Aslan Karatsev will represent Russia in the singles category at the Paris Olympic Games.
