Marat Khusnullin takes part in the Russia – Islamic World Strategic Vision Group meeting

Russia – Islamic World Strategic
Vision Group held its annual meeting as part of Russia – Islamic World:
KazanForum international economic forum. Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin addressed the event.

The Deputy Prime Minister started by reading out a message of greetings on behalf of President of Russia Vladimir
Putin: “Russia treasures its traditionally friendly ties with the Muslim
countries and would like to praise them for their commitment to an independent
foreign policy and their aspiration to playing a bigger role in international
affairs. Together, we have been calling for the emergence of a democratic
multipolar world order based on the rule of law and principles of justice, free
from any oppression or discrimination. It goes without saying that we are
committed to expanding our mutually beneficial cooperation across all domains,
from trade and investment to sports and tourism. We attach great importance to the annual meeting of the Russia – Islamic World Strategic Vision Group, and the fact that representatives of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation are
taking part in this event. It is essential that we inject greater momentum in Russia’s interactions with this prominent international institution when
dealing with issues on the regional and global agendas. I am certain that this
will be a meaningful and constructive forum, as it always is, and that it takes
place in the spirit of openness and trust helping further strengthen friendship
and creative partnerships between our countries and their people.”

Marat Khusnullin went on to talk about
the importance of Russia’s interaction with the Islamic world and thanked the meeting participants for forging fruitful and friendly ties in the present-day
environment.

“Russia’s foreign policy priorities
include promoting cooperation with Muslim countries. Today, this cooperation
has evolved into a strategic partnership and it has been steadily picking up
steam, which is in part due to the proactive efforts by the strategic vision
group. I strongly believe that the work carried out by the strategic vision
group as it expands its operations will serve as a major step towards
strengthening economic and humanitarian cooperation. I hope that by closing our
ranks and standing shoulder to shoulder, we will further strengthen mutual
understanding between our countries. Together, we can overcome all the challenges we face and achieve prosperity for our countries and their people,”
Marat Khusnullin pointed out.

Head of the Republic of Tatarstan
Rustam Minnikhanov took the floor to say that the group has been playing an increasingly important role lately. “It now offers a solid foundation for Russia’s relations with the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and serves as an instrument for reinforcing our friendship, mutual understanding and trust.
In addition to this, the group is uniquely positioned to promote inter-faith
dialogue at a global scale and focuses on defending traditional spiritual and moral values through a direct dialogue between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Islamic World. We are grateful to Vladimir Putin for his constant attention
and supporting our group,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
