The Albanian Wrestling Federation has officially announced the lineup of participants who will go to the Olympic Games in freestyle wrestling in Paris. Only three athletes will represent Albania, and all of them previously competed under the flag of Russia. However, they decided to change their sporting citizenship in order to get the opportunity to compete on the international stage. Now they are members of the Olympic team and are preparing to participate in the most prestigious tournament of the quadrennium.
57 kg – Zelimkhan Abakarov, world champion and European vice-champion
65 kg – Islam Dudayev, European champion
74 kg – Chermen Valiev, world and European U23 champion.
All three have great chances to win a medal in Paris, they have great experience. And who will show their abilities – we will see very soon on the Parga mats.
